Season 1, Episode 80: Attachment vs. Commitment – What Best Serves You

In today’s episode, your host, Michael Neeley, talks about the differences between being attached to an outcome or result versus being committed to it.

The distinction between the two can be subtle while producing vastly different experiences. When one becomes familiar with this distinction and then makes a conscious choice, the freedom therein can be expansive.

What are your thoughts on attachment vs. commitment? Please join in on the conversation by leaving comments on our Facebook page or in the comment section below.

Season 1, Episode 77: Nancy Stubbs – Discovery Coach & Conscious HR Consultant

Today’s guest is Discovery Coach, Nancy Stubbs. Nancy brings a very interesting aspect to the mix of our guests here on Consciously Speaking as she blends her 12 years of experience in human resources with another 12 years of her Big Leap Discovery Coaching.

In combination, she utilizes an assessment tool that helps point to and, in a way, quantify, a person’s genius! This tool helps identify their innate talents — their striving instincts — how they take action when they’re free to be themselves.

Nancy combines this assessment tool with several others in the Kolbe suite of products to help hiring leaders build their teams based upon conative instincts. This allows her to help individual clients who are curious about discovering, validating, and using their talents in a conscious, deliberate way that will bring them a greater sense of alignment and happiness with their chosen vocation.

Season 1, Episode 76: Marty Klein – Author, Workshop Leader & Yoga Enthusiast

Today’s guest is Marty Klein. Born in Brooklyn, NY in 1948, Marty grew up with his heart set on being a weatherman. He eventually realized that dream during his time in the U.S. Air Force but found it shattered when he lost his eyesight in 1974. What started as the biggest challenge of his life turned out to be a blessing in disguise.

Marty eventually landed in Woodstock, NY, where he found his identity as a man, a loving partner, a caring stepfather, and a good friend while working for Family of Woodstock, a crisis intervention center.

Having come to a place of grounding and clarity about his journey, he wrote his first book, a memoir, Blindsighted, One Man’s Journey from Sight to Insight.

He went on to pen two more books, Emotional Cleansing, The Spiritual Journey Toward a Clear Heart, and The Enlightened Gambler, The Heart and Spirit of the Risk Taker in All of Us, published in 2013.

Being blind has never slowed him down as he also co-founded Namaste Yoga Center, realizing that everything happens on a mat, and co-produced a 5CD instructional set called “Beginning Yoga for the Blind and Visually impaired”.

Marty participated in a spiritual workshop with Ram Dass, and the sound of the harmonium that Krishna Das played that night so touched his heart that he has been chanting and leading Kirtan with his harmonium ever since.

Marty can be found at www.blindyoga.net.

In today’s guided restorative meditation, Michael Neeley will lead you through a practice of inviting healing energy into your body. Opening yourself up to your life force, or prana, is a terrific way to allow your body to do what it already knows how to do – heal itself.

This meditation is very short and can be repeated many times throughout the day to revitalize yourself.

May you be well. May you be happy. May you be free from suffering. May you be at peace.

Namaste.
