I know many people, myself included, strive to be awake every day. It’s not always easy, and it definitely takes practice. Practice in both focus and mindfulness – the way we keep ourselves from falling asleep at the wheel, or waking up quickly as soon as we notice we’ve dozed.
Some of us have mastered this practice in certain areas of our lives. Myself, I’m really good at being in the present moment. You will seldom find me dwelling on the past or worrying about the future. I’ve been building that skill for some time, and I’m a master there.
However, when it comes to my nutrition and what I eat, I pay much less attention. Similarly, my fitness takes a backseat to some of the other areas of my life.
