Season 1, Episode 136: Creating Your Reality

In this topical content episode, I am joined by Dr. John McGrail (Season 1, Episode 102). John is a clinical hypnotherapist, self-improvement expert and spiritual teacher based in Los Angeles, CA. He is the author of The Synthesis Effect: Your Direct Path to Personal Power and Transformation.

Today, we dive deep into creating your reality. We are the makers of our world, and as such, we have to first take ownership of that power and then consciously choose what to create.

We will talk about the many aspects of how we accomplish this as well as how we frequently fall into a default reality – one handed to us. You’ll hear about:

  • How to move from life happening TO you, to life happening FOR you
  • Choosing the path of your dreams versus the path that someone else has chosen for you
  • How your expectations, as well as the expectations of those around you, impact your results
  • When it’s important to have your conscious mind take the reins from your subconscious mind
  • … and more

Season 1, Episode 134: Omar Pinto – Mentor for Recovery and Podcast Host

Today’s guest is Omar Pinto. Omar has been in recovery for eleven years now. But before recovery, he spent 4 years in denial about being a drug addict. His drugs of choice were predominantly alcohol and cocaine but he’d settle for pot, ecstasy, mushrooms or whatever was at the party.

During those 4 years, he lost his business, his friends and business partners disowned him, and his wife left him. Omar’s health was very poor and he was even exhibiting severe symptoms of schizophrenia and paranoia.

It wasn’t until his daughter was born and he held her in his arms for the first time that he truly surrendered and accepted that alone he could not win the battle against drugs and alcohol. In that moment, he experienced his first spiritual awakening and asked the God of his understanding to relieve him of his drug addiction, if only for the sake of his daughter.

That is the moment his journey in recovery began. He turned his life over to the care of God and began to feverishly work a 12 step program of recovery. Omar’s Higher Power restored him to sanity and today he lives a life beyond his wildest dreams.

So what does he do next? He pays it forward. Omar gives back what was freely given to him, each and every week on his podcast, SHAIR (Sharing Helps Addicts in Recovery), where you can listen to addicts and alcoholics share their inspiring success stories of recovery from drug and alcohol addiction.

You can find out more about Omar and his show at www.TheSHAIRpodcast.com.

Today’s interview will be a turning-of-the-table as Heather Gray (Season 1, Episodes 54, 66 and 101)  is sitting in as guest host and interviewing Michael himself. Michael is a former professional actor and medieval knight turned writer, motivational speaker, personal development coach, and author of the upcoming book, The Art of Forgetting. He has appeared in feature films with Mel Gibson and Kevin Costner, performed off Broadway with Andre Braugher and Kathleen Chalfant, and had recurring roles in several popular soap operas. Season 1, Episode 130: Susan Bodiker – Health Coach

Today’s guest is Susan Bodiker. Susan is a former ‘fat girl’ – and she will be the first one to tell you that. Like so many women, her body image issues started at a young age, and it didn’t matter if she was at a weight of 120, 130, or 140 – she still saw a ‘fat girl’ staring back at her in the mirror. It was only when she learned to nourish her mind and heart first that she lost the weight and gained the confidence to create a meaningful, happy life – and she wants that to be every girl’s story.

Susan is a graduate of Barnard College and received her health coach training from the Institute for Integrative Nutrition. She works with girls and women through One Girl Wellness, a health-coaching consultancy dedicated to “raising stronger women one girl at a time”.

Susan shares her journey and guidance for others to find that strength in her new book, Fat Girl: How to Let Go of Your Weight and Get on With Your Life, a roadmap to greater self-knowledge, self-awareness and self-esteem.

You can find out more about Susan at www.onegirlwellness.com.

Today, we take you on an exploration of completions. Getting complete can range from things as small as finishing the dishes to as big as getting a divorce. We cover a great deal of territory, covering aspects of:

  • Cleaning out your closet or garage
  • Completing communications with loved ones (as opposed to leaving things unsaid)
  • Completing a relationship
  • Closing out (and saying goodbye to) phases of our lives
  • … and more
