Interim 2015, Episode 221: Gay Dillingham – Filmmaker & Environmental Activist

Today’s guest is Gay Dillingham. Gay has consistently juggled her parallel passions for the environment, public policy and communication through film all in an effort to deepen our human experience and success while on this marvelous planet.

She was born in 1965 to a ranching, entrepreneurial family in Oklahoma, lived mostly under the open skies of the West including Santa Fe New Mexico for the past 26 years.

Gay started making documentary films out of college in the late 80s. Her first, The WIPP Trail, narrated by Robert Redford, cast a critical eye at our nation’s first and still world’s only underground nuclear waste repository.

She later co-founded and managed two environmental technology companies: Earthstone International and Growstone. She served eight years on the EIB, a regulatory board in charge of environmental management and consumer protection for the State of New Mexico. Under her tenure the EIB spear-headed the passage of the most comprehensive regulations on greenhouse gases in the country.

Today, she is again concentrating her passion to inform and enlighten through her film company CNS Communications, LLC. Her new film, Dying to Know has been a labor of love she has cultivated on and off for 18 years; footage so compelling, it was haunting her to finish. She is grateful to be back to her life’s passion making films & telling meaningful stories.

You can find out more about Gay and this wonderful film at www.DyingToKnowMovie.com.

Season 1, Episode 212: Guided Tonglen Meditation #30 with Michael Neeley

This episode of Consciously Speaking’s guided meditation series is focused on the practice of “tonglen”, and will be guided by your host, Michael Neeley.

Tonglen is Tibetan for “giving and taking” or “sending and receiving”. It is, at its roots, the practice of taking in pain and suffering and sending out peace and healing. You can use this practice on yourself or for the benefit of another person or animal, a group of people, or even the planet. That’s up to you.

In this practice, you visualize taking on the suffering of others with your in-breath, and spreading happiness and peace on your out-breath. You may select an individual in need, an animal, yourself, a group of people or even the planet as the beneficiary of your practice.

Enjoy!

Season 1, Episode 205: Guided Meditation #29 with Michael Neeley

This episode of Consciously Speaking’s Guided Meditation Series will be led by Michael Neeley. Set outdoors, this meditation will focus on your breath and the sounds of your surroundings.

At times, you may enter a meditation with an intention, such as a metta or tonglen practice; however, you may also find that the meditation has a plan of its own and will take you somewhere entirely different.

As you sit today, allow your mind to go where it will, while you simply notice and then release the thoughts that arise.

Enjoy!

Season 1, Episode 201: Nirmala – Satsang Leader & Spiritual Mentor

Today’s guest is Nirmala. After a lifetime of spiritual seeking, Nirmala met his teacher, Neelam, a devotee of H.W.L. Poonja (Papaji). She convinced him that seeking wasn’t necessary; and after experiencing a profound spiritual awakening in India, he began offering satsang and Non-dual Spiritual Mentoring with Neelam’s blessing.

This tradition of spiritual wisdom has been most profoundly disseminated by Ramana Maharshi, a revered Indian saint, who was Papaji’s teacher. Nirmala’s perspective was also profoundly expanded by his friend and teacher Adyashanti.

Nirmala offers satsang in gratitude for the love and grace that flow through his teachers, Neelam and Adyashanti, and for the Truth brought to this world by Ramana Maharshi and H.W.L. Poonja. Advaita satsang is offered as a celebration of the possibility, in every moment, of recognizing the truth of who we are. Nirmala offers a unique vision and a gentle, compassionate approach, which adds to this rich tradition of inquiry into the truth of Being.

You can find more about Nirmala at www.endless-satsang.com, and download a PDF copy of his book, Living from the Heart.
